Hey there,
We were out fishing the rigs today. (Caught some real nice snapper)
(GI AND ST area out of grand isle) about 12:00 a message came over the marine radio that there was a missing diver and it cut out, I missed the rig number and location but did here it was a GI rig. most of those are right after the canyon drop, ranging from 200'-540'. Does anyone know anything about this?

Hope everything turned out ok and my prayers were with them for the search.

Can you clarify, LA as in Los Angeles or LA as in Louisiana ?? Both locations are entirely possible.
Grand Isle is in Louisiana. He heard it on his radio while fishing. I hope it's not someone I know.

Sorry, forgot they have members here from all over.
I was referring to the rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.
Grand Isle, Louisiana is where we went out from. (We have a camp here) I heard the message while I was fishing at rig GI 47.
(Grand isle block 47)
It came across on channel 16.

We are searching for our missing family member who went diving today. It was in the Gulf of Mexico off of grand isle. Can u tell me anything else that you might of seen or heard?

I am so very sorry to hear that. I pray that you are able to locate them.
I have no information that will help most likely regarding the search, I myself was trying to find out what may have happened and if they were found.

This is what I know,
At 12:00 (noon) today or around that time We had the marine radio (cb) set to channel 16. I heard a message come over that they needed help searching for a lost diver. The message was loud and clear but for some reason it cut out while he had mentioned the exact location needing assistance. I have no idea of the rig number they mentioned.

Prayers to you and your family and I will have my family pray for you all as well,
Please keep me/us here informed if you can.

Thank you for your concern and prayers. They are much needed. My uncle still has not been found. My dad was suppose to be with him yesterday but was unable to attend, the family and many volunteers are still searching. They have a dive team, coast guard boats and helicopters all searching. I did find a article online, it was on the coast guards website stating what happened. It's so unreal, he was such a amazing diver I don't understand all this. He lives in ascension parish, that's where we are all at. They did keep a search boat out there last night but sadly still have not found him. I really appreciate your concern I will keep you updated once I hear anything. Thank you again.

So was he was not in gear?
I was thinking of doing some free diving with a spear until my permit later this year.
Could someone explain what they read in that article, as a diver I expected currents but nothing of an undertow.
