Have heard someone got trapped underwater in Brockville first week of October and now am hearing that they died later in hospital but can find no info as to who nor can get ahold of anyone who would know so I am trying here.... anu info on this?

I was in Brockville on Sat and Sun filling tanks. I didn't hear any gossip about an incident such as this.

I did hear there was an incident with a rebreather. Apparently a lady had some difficulty and passed out. Was given medical treatment and she had a full recovery. I heard very few details and, as it was second, or third hand info, I'm hesitant to even mention the few details I do have to prevent rumours flying around. Perhaps someone who has facts may come along with the story.

Dave:)

Definately didn't hear about it then. I'm curious as well now, going to have to make some enquiries.

The news this morning is now reporting that a 41 year old male from Laval died in a Brockville hospital after being pulled from the St Lawrence. No other details. Condolences to family and friends.

The incident involved a woman from western Ontario on a Inspiration training course. SHE IS FINE AND DOING WELL and will continue her course down the road. Apparently she had her electronics in calibration mode when she began her dive do I need to say more. She was quickly rescued and sent to hospital. It pays to check, check and double check your electronics when diving rebreathers.

I did hear something about that, too.. but there is also a rumour that a 41 yr. old died this past saturday...
I read a very brief article on this in the Ottawa Citizen on Sunday. It was published under the wrong headline on about page 5. No details were provided. I checked the Brockville Recorder and Times online edition, but could find nothing about it. Probably because of the long weekend they did not publish the story, at least not under the local news link.
