Hello,
To complete my Padi Divemaster course I need to get my Open water dive class evaluations done. The water here is about to freeze over and the OW classes have pretty much come to an end until Spring. Our Instructor advised us that the Evaluations can be done by any certified instructor when we assist them with a training course. The Question is: If I were to travel to somewhere warm for a vacation is assisting with courses while there something that can be arranged or can you only have evaluations done thru the LDS where you took the course. Will instructors in vacation destinations accept and do evaluations for DMC's. If so what is the usual arrangement?

Where is "here"? Do the evaluations need to be done by a PADI instructor? I'm NAUI but I have a couple of tentative certification weekends planned (Oct 20-21 and Nov 17-18) at Gilboa quarry in Ohio. If I get students signed up for either you're welcome to come and get abused....errrr I mean evaluated :D

Thank you very much, for the offer. I suspect they do have to be PADI:-)
FYI I am located in Alberta, Canada.

Your web site appears down.
I happen to have family in Montreal.
Where do you usually do your checkout dives?
Checking my Aeroplan points:-)

Somehow, I think being "abused..." as your DMC would be a wonderful learning experinece ;)

Soooooo, how do you feel about carting concrete blocks around underwater? :eyebrow: I don't think my staff will fall for that one again when the advanced class rolls around in May :D

My favorite dive briefing by my staff was after I had them place two concrete blocks for the AOW students to recover and bring back with lift bags. The briefing went like this:

Students to staff who have just returned: "How was it?"

Staff: "It SUCKED...good luck!"

It was all I could do to keep from falling down laughing :rofl3:

I think my staff learned a lot about lift bag work that day :D

[hijack]She's so good at it that we even have a separate entry for her on the Contact Us page: Moderator Abuse... :D[/hijack]

Hey now, it's only abuse when they don't enjoy it :D

Any leadership level diver or candidate is always welcome to help with my classes unless they prove to me they are unsafe. If y'all are ever in Ohio, come out to my class. You won't sit around and be bored...I promise!
