Ive just arrived from Egybt, - where Ive done some diving, which was terrific, I took a specialty in underwaterphotography. I already miss diving, I live in Denmark and the cold waterdiving has never been my favorite!! But the main thing is, that Ive been thinking about becoming a divemaster in the Red sea area, has anyone else thought about that? Or has anyone experience with this or just a longer course there?, then Id like to hear from you :)
Anyways, - everyone are welcome to contact me, I have a lot to share, but also learn!!

I spent a few months over there two years ago. I had a great time. Lots of diving, a few courses and some non-diving stuff too.

I met plenty of people doing their Divemaster course. It is something I would consider, looked like a lot of fun. I even met a couple of girls from Denmark who had the whole thing paid for by the Danish government:eek:

Thanks for your reply.
That sounds awesome, but weird, - the government paying it?? You don´t know howcome?
Where did you stay in Hurgada, Sharm el sheihk or further down south?

The deal they were on sounded pretty good. It was some kind of training scheme. They had to be doing professional training (any kind, not necessarily diving). They got all their expenses paid plus pocket money and language lessons.

For diving I mostly stayed in Hurgada but I spent quite a bit of time in Dahab and a few weeks in Sharm and Alexandria too. I also spent a bit of time in Cairo, Luxor and Port Said

The place in Dahab I go to has a 6 month Divemaster program...I think they pay for your plane ticket and lodging. Go to http://www.diveindahab.com and click on the DiveIn Tod@y link. There's a pdf link there that gives the details on the program.

I got back from Dahab almost 2 months ago. I did my Open Water and Advanced there. Since I got back home, Gold Coast, Australia I have done my Rescue and am working on finishing off my Divemaster. I am going back in September to stay indefinitely. Why be here when I can be there diving. I have couple of offers and will pick them up when I get back. I have travelled all my life, but Dahab is THE best place I have ever been, if there is better, I'll get there later..

If my home place shows as Dahab, it's because that's where I will be living in 1 month, I'm all but gone from here.
