I am going to ask my local LDS about this concept, since I would definitely want if I was leading a group.

Hi Fancesea, can you give a bit more insight as to why you would need a comms device if you were leading a group? I am interested to learn the needs. Thank you

I am not leading a commercial group, but diving with both husband and daughter and it has happened that I faced a choice of staying with hubby or daughter as they got farther apart. Awful! On one dive, the current took my 12 year old out of sight. So do I have to buy three 1,000 units, or can I buy one unit and two trackers to keep all of my family together? What would I need? Granted three units would make all three of us equally responsible.

Hi Francesea
Yes I can imagine when incidents like these happen it can be stressful and frightening. DiveLine will allow you to send a message as well as locate your lost buddy. The location function will give both distance and direction so that you can quickly reunite instead of stressing out.

In your case there are two possible solutions.

1. The lower cost option is for you to have a DiveLine-NavCom unit and your husband and daughter to have the DiveLine beacons. They can carry the beacon mounted on the tank, BCD or elsewhere. The NavCom unit has got the display and user interface. So if your buddy gets separated you can navigate to them. The beacons are transponders without displays.

2. The second more useful option is for all three to have the NavCom units. This allows you to send messages to each other as well as locate each other.

Currently we are running a crowd funding campaign and you can pre-order the beta units which we estimate for October this year. During this campaign we are offering 50% discounts on 2 or more purchases. We will replace these beta units free of charge to the final production units forecast at the end of the year. The beta units are fully functional devices. We run a beta program to get feedback and make the product better.

Let me know if you have any questions and I am here to help.
