Ladies - turning to the experts here...

I'd like to buy a watch that I can wear while diving. But everything I've found so far looks like it's made for the boys. I have pretty small wrists so I'd like something not so big!

Do you all have any recommendations?

Thanks!

...but selecting a dive watch needs to be based on more than looks alone. I have really small wrists, too, but for my money, you can't go wrong with the Citizen Hyper Aqualand. No, it's not that comfortable to wear on land, but once in the water you won't even notice it. It has a digital readout, so it's easy to read.

I suppose it depends upon whether you just want to wear it for diving or for diving and daily wear. I am a small female and I have a Citizen Hyper Aqualand as well and I love it. But, I don't wear it daily because it is rather heavy (not a problem when diving).

If you just want a bottom timer and no other functions Freestyle makes some women's watches that are a little more "girlish" but they aren't as technically sophistocated as the Citizen.

I have a Casio G-Shock and that puppy is indestructible. I *think* they come in smaller sizing, but not sure. I have a small wrist as well, but went with the G-Shock for dependablity and durability.

I wear it all the time....so much so that one of my co-workers commented on the "clock" on my arm. Oh well........

Depends on what you expect out of it. If all you want is a bottom timer, I agree with the Freestyle. St. Moritz also makes a women's model but they are pricey for only a bottom timer.

But if you want a function logging device, that is downloadable so the only thing not recorded is your air consumption, go with the Citizen Hyper Aqualand. I quit downloading mine several years ago but the profile graph helped me tremendously to 'flatten' out my profile and stop the up and down zig-zag. Mine is perfect for filling out my logbook.

Yes, topside it is heavy but underwater you'll never know it's there plus it's large enough to see well. Some of the ladies models are virtually useless since they are hard to see...even with young eyes!

I also use a G-shock both underwater and on land. I've got a small wrist but don't care about how my watch 'looks'. Its function that counts.

I've used mens ironmen watches underwater as well - they're good for at least 2 years on one battery, don't mind the salt abuse, and are cheap enough that you aren't devastated by losing one....

for just a basic bottom timer, casio makes a "baby G" version of their G shock line. my sister just had to get a watch for her OW cert, and has the same small wrist problem you describe. the readout is digital and legible under water. she found hers at "costco" for about $35 bucks.

my first watch was the basic mens version. it is bigger, but cheaper at about $20 (at costco). it served me well for several years until i replaced it. just a tip, even if you do go with a "larger" watch face, you can always replace the strap for something more appropriately sized to your wrist. my g-shock is on a women's iron man velcro slap strap type band and has worked well over the years. it is also easily adjustable this way, depending on how much neoprene you are wearing (it still doesn't get quite small enough for my wrist without a wetsuit tho).

Elegent Womans Dive watch
Hard to find but have a look at the Tissot watches I bought my wife one for her last Bday. she loves it, small 200m rating

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I am just looking for a watch for diving (looks are so not important!) - really just interested in keeping track of my bottom time and decompression stops.

I'll definitely check out the various models you all pointed out! I knew I could count on your knowledge!
