I realize most people dont have such devastating choices as these, but I have the chance to get away in March for a week roughly the 16-23. Have several ideas and can probably get to either Mexico / Central America, thinking Belize (6 hour trip, plus I just dived in Akumal earlier this month); Saba (6 hour trip); Fiji (21 hour trip); India (22 hours minimum); Hawaii (already going in July to Big Island).
Could get to other areas in Caribbean if anything is really spectacular. Fairly new C card holder, since getting it in Jan I have been to Jamaica and Akumal, am hoping for something a little more spectacular but not overly difficult (or of course expensive).
Opinions or ideas appreciated, specifically as to diving in Fiji now with the warmer water, also Saba vs Belize. Definitely more in favor of remote cheap and funky as opposed to resorty, more of an out there with a good book and the sound of the waves traveller.
Advice on this one appreciated,

Rob, NY

Hi Rob
I'm in a similar position to you. also keen to get away form snowy nyc - assuming that's where you're from.

I've been toying with a last minute super deluxe trip to the galapagos islands. Or a cave diving course in florida/mexico.

If you're a fairly new diver, then Utila or Roatan woudl be great. You could definitely chill there and have some good diving. Decent enough diving in Placencia, too. Better diving in Cozumel, but it gets resorty.

Or check out the cenotes and stay in a cabana on the beach in Tullum

Roatan is a great place for a new diver, but I also highly recommend Little Cayman. My 2nd and 3rd dive trips were both on the Cayman Aggressor (1990 and 1991), and my wife and I are going there the 5th of March and staying at the Southern Cross Club. The reefs at Little Cayman are second to none in the Caribbean, IMHO. :crafty:

I would also add Little Cayman and Grand Turk to the short list of out there places where its all about the diving.
