Hi Friends,

Does anyone have a pre-travel check list they would be willing to share?

Greg:coffee:

Like what to do before you leave?

What to pack? How to pack?

What to have in an emergency save a dive kit?

What exactly are you looking for?

Mine(list) depends on where I'm going....ie international to a resort(that will have many of my extra items that I will not be needing to bring) vs. the Flower Gardens where you bring EVERYTHING down to the weights you'll need.......Where are you traveling to????

Have the necessary documents and identification before you get to the dive shop or location.
Personal Identification (i.e. your driver's license, passport)
Certification card (C-card)
Dive log and pen

2. Scuba Gear Checklist
Your scuba gear checklist should be used before the dive to make sure you have the necessary equipment and after the dive to make sure you haven't lost anything.

I print it out before every trip then check things off that we need, then put them in the luggage. The things we don't need I cross off.
We also do something else - we type out an inventory list for each bag. That way if a bag goes missing, I know what was in that bag. I carry the printout in my carryon bag. :D

I created my own list and rearranged it by what goes in what bag. Made packing so much easier. Like I will carry my reg and extra bathing suit in a carry on instead of the gear bag that I check

I've found that the best thing to do is to take a look at several other peoples for ideas and then to make your own specific to your type of diving and what gear you have. You'll also find that you'll be adding to it over time. I've got several items on there that aren't always needed on each trip, but I just just put a X beside those instead of a check to indicate that I didn't need it for that type trip.

PM me your email and I'd be glad you send you a copy of the one I have/use. You can then modify it for your use or use what you want out of it....

I'd attach it here but for some reason with my SB account it won't let me attach any document and they won't seem to fix it... **sigh**. (note I'll be tonight or tomorrow before I can email it).

I put every piece of dive gear I own on a scale (four very large totes). Being over weight, I remove what I think I don't need. Weigh again. Due to only removing fifty pounds, remove more. Weigh again. Remove more gear. Continue to do this until I get to the weight limit of the airline I'm using. Put the gear in a bag. Weigh again. Remove more gear due to the weight of the bag. Jump in the car and head to the airport. Turn around at the airport. Go back home and get tickets. Priceless.
No, really I did a google search for "dive gear checklist" (google just works for me). went through quite of few sites and came up what works for where I'm going and what I need to have with me.
Have a great trip!

Robint,

Awesome...very cool list. Thanks

Greg
