i just got back from a humberbay dive, first time i saw my first stage covered in ice :) Hope the air is warmer in ottawa.

Eric,
You did not make it down to ROCKPORT?
We are having a blizzard here in Pembroke...I did not make it out to dive anywhere!

Ok, didn't Spring just start a couple of weeks ago? Oh ya- I live in Ottawa, never mind.

Well, the good news is I got the layering perfect under my drysuit today, nice & toasty! The bad news (for Art) is I need more weight. Art was kind enough to donate 4 lbs to me which, combined with the two rocks I carried for the whole dive, kept me within a fin-kick of neutral.

One more trip to the LDS for lead and I'm dialed-in for the rest of the chilly dives!

Good dive Art, thanks!

Also, could everyone please PM Drowned_Rat and harrass him to sell his obsolete motor bike & invest in more dive toys, i.e. Tri-Lam? Thanks!

Matt.

I arrived on site just as everyone was getting in the water (there's that Larissa Daylight Savings Time striking again). So after a rather hasty gear-up I was ready to dive. Drowned_Rat (I think) was just getting out of the water complaining of being low on air.

However Artw and Air Miser were still in the water - and Art said he still had air and was willing to dive again with me if he got his tank weight back. So he got his tank weight back and down we went.

Viz wasn't bad. I was diving a new-to-me used reg and although it still breathed a little wet not bad at all. The current was just rocking and it was an absolute blast. I've been having a crappy week and although I hadn't been planning on diving today, I'm just SO glad I did (thanks Art for inviting me) as the "underwater therapy" was exactly what I needed to improve my mood.

So, another 25 minutes at 30 - 45'.......... that was dive #27 for me. :D

Getting down to time to buy that reg huh?
Yeah, the reg I was breathing today was one that's been offered me by a shop (ex-rental reg). Today and yeterday for that matter was my chance to "test dive" it to see if I wanted to buy it. Yesterday I was complaining that after 20' it turned into a drinking fountain, but today it wasn't QUITE that wet. And it didn't get any wetter when I inverted or faced partly into the current, either, so I can live with it I guess. Not a hint of a freeflow, which is what I was looking for.

here is some pics of the happy couple.

unfortunately I didn't get a chance to snap pics of Air Miser and the other Wetsuit diver Drownedrat, who did 35 mins in 37f water with a 7mil without hot water. well not drinkable water anyway ;) hat's off to the wetsuit divers. lets hope this is the last snowstorm of the season :)
