Hey gang,

For those of you that saw the last post about the Nov 26th Epcot dive and was thinking about going it filled up in one day. I scheduled another trip for Dec 17th and I would like to invite you all. I can only get 11 people in so dont delay.

Price is $120

Important Info:
1. Bring your Certification Card
2. Bring a mask, no snorkel
3. Bring a swim suit
4. Be at the guest relation window
5. Contact me to save your spot

Epcot will supply everything else we need, including a few jokes.

To give you a litle run down of how this all works, I went for the first time on Nov 5th with some newly certified students from the shop. We all met up at the Guest Relations window and stood around chatting until the Divemasters came out and got us. They lead you around backstage and point out interesting things and give you interesting facts. After some paper work we are lead to the changing/shower rooms and given our suits. Then off to the dive platform. From there on you just follow the simple directions and jump in and dive with some interesting animals. You even get the chance to play with other Epcot guests as you are now part of thier Disney experience. After your dive and debriefing you are released into the park to enjoy the lightshow.

According to the reviews I read of other's epcot experiences, yes, there are:-)

Cool! I'm signed up to do this dive with my Dad in January. I would've been a little bummed not to see some sharks.

I don't suppose they have fricken laser beams attached to their fricken heads, do they?

Brian

I did it last January. See review (post #2) here.

It was a lot of fun. Yes there were sharks. When I did my dive there were two 8 foot long Sand Tigers in the tank. Got to see one up close and personal (couple of feet away).

The most fun, though, were the little kids on the other side of the glass. Very fun to interact with as you become part of the display.

Have fun, you'll have a blast!

Why is it that divers can't use personal gear? Possible contamination?

Great report, thanks! We're actually doing a manatee snorkel this coming Sunday. Should be a blast! Looking forward to seeing those Tigers...

Brian

Yes... you will see several sharks including two sand tigers. One is around 8 foot and the other is a 6 foot shark. If you watch the sharks for a few mins you will be able to see thier swim pattern and then you can swim over and position yourself so they swim within inches of you.

I believe there are a total of 6 sharks in the main tank. I did not count them myself as I spent most of my time in awe of the sand tigers.

The Living Seas has been down for rehab but is due to reopen on the 24th 25th of this month. This will give the divers more people to play with as they peer thru the windows at us swimming with the sharks. On the last trip some of guys had thier wives and kids eating dinner and watching them dive. I am going again on the 26th of this month and I am going to spend the whole day there and I plan on checking out the other side of the windows before I hit the dive tank.

Yes we use thier equipment to keep from contaminating the tank. According to the Epcot staff it was a real problem when they would allow divers to bring thier own equipment. Besides lugging your equipment thru the disney parking lot would not be all that fun, even if you had a rollerbag.

If you never did it I would reccomend it. As said above the little kids are really funny. They must think that you are some kind of a fish and they are making you do tricks.

After seeing sharks in the ocean the ones in the tanks act like overfed city bums. They don't have the grace as do the ones in the wild.
