Interested in the tech community’s thoughts on improvements to this product.

The purpose of this board (below) is to have a single spot to capture information as it comes in so that it’s organized when it’s time for the dive brief. Also, the categories of information are intended to ensure the dive team leader doesn’t forget anything.

Some background explanations to the board:

(1) DTL = Dive Team Leader
ADTL = Assistant Dive Team Leader - responsible for assisting in planning and coordination

(2) CONTINGENCY DRILLS: After identifying the probability and severity of hazards in the section above, this is the spot to capture dryland rehearsal requirements. VF/HSO = voice first, hand signal only. So, implied is the team goes through the rehearsal until procedures are understood and then conducts a rehearsal with only hand signals.

(3) MED SUPPORT: Pax = personnel, O/B = on board, MTF = medical treatment facility (a full hospital might not be around so this term encompasses clinics, EMS departments, etc)

Once I get feedback, I intend to take to the local sign maker shop and have something built with permanent labels on dry erase material.

Thanks in advance.

Vertical dashed lines indicate where the board will fold so that it fits into a large travel dive bag.

On the backside of the board on the left “wing”, I intend to include conversion charts:

Meters………..Feet
Bar……………PSI
Liters…………Cu Ft
Celsius……….Fahrenheit

On the right “wing”….dunno, either the field neurological exam or omitted deco - want it to be for something helpful when the caca hits the fan.

what about team member tasks and responsibilities?

what about team member tasks and responsibilities?

Great point. I thought about adding Deco Captain / Team Duties to the execution area under the sketch area but thought I might run out of space making the text too small for dive briefs. To compensate, I thought to capture key tasks by name in each portion of the dive execution area. Also, under the TM KIT area, I thought perhaps using another color marker to circle the key kit team members have primary responsibility for employing would be helpful.

Thanks for the feedback. Highlights that it will be important to clearly articulate each team member’s responsibilities.

Thanks to @Dr Simon Mitchell for posting his response plan for unconscious diver elsewhere in the forum. Quite happy to credit him and orient interested divers to his work.

My 12 year old astutely pointed out, “Dad, are you doing a STEM fair project? Hey, you should move that shark logo down a bit so you can do hand sketches if you don’t have those plasticky maps of the wreck.”

Touché.

I would have thought that DAN'S neurological slate would be better and easier.

It‘s easier to follow but not nearly as comprehensive. On a four hour drive to a chamber the DAN slate will run thin on observables leading to a weak casualty handover. If I were to use the DAN slate, any one of my current and previous surgeons, PAs and medics would disown me.
