I am running a group trip to Svalbard (north of Norway) June 22-29, 2011. We will be based on a 267-foot long vessel, traveling around the Spitzbergen Island group. Both divers and non-divers are welcome!

We plan to dive everyday, probably 2 dives per day. That will leave plenty of time for land excursions as well. Water temperature is about 44oF, so drysuits are recommended. The sun will be up 24 hours a day, so lots of daylight for activities!

There is lots of life on the islands. We expect to see walrus, the Svalbard reindeer (world’s smallest reindeer species), caribou, arctic fox, Svalbard grouse, and of course, polar bears! Marine fauna includes beluga and minke whales, nudibranchs, seals, isopods, fish, anemones, starfish, and many other animals unique to the Arctic.

The price of the trip varies with type of cabin. Rooms range from $3,900 to $5,450 per person. Divers pay an additional $520. Travel to Longyearbyen is not included.

Please write and I will send additional information.
