I am choosing a dive suit for tropical diviving and am choosing between one that is spandex and one that is polyprophylene. Your input is appreciated.

Hi-

What water temps do you consider tropical? And I assume by spandex you mean hyper stretch or progressive stretch?

You will probably be most comfortable with a 3mm hyperstretch suit, maybe even a shorty, for most tropical diving. The hyperstretch suits sacrifice a little warmth for a much easier dressing experience.

Here in the summer water temps can reach close to 90 degrees, so more than a skin will be hot. The winter temps vary from 65 to 80 depending on where in the Caribbean you dive.

Sounds like he's talking about a dive skin, not a thin wetsuit.
