I was in St. Lucia on Jan 30th and dove with DLS/SS while in port on a cruise.

Bottom line: Good experience, would use again

Dive St. Lucia / Scuba Steve's (St. Lucia)
Meeting location: Water ferry dock right outside cruise pier. They stop at several other resorts to pick up divers before the cruise pier.

Boat: Volan - 15 divers max, covered deck area, no restroom.

Briefing: Just covered dive plan, no mention of boat safety.

Dive sites dove (they have many different ones, decide which ones to dive the day of):
They have 2 different dive packages for cruise ship passengers. The Standard Service is 2 dives in Anse Cochnon (20 minutes from port, max depth 40’). The Premium Service is 2 dives in Soufriere by the Pistons (35 minutes from port, max depth 60’). I did the Premium Service.

Coral gardens: Sloping reef, very easy, great marine life, 60’ depth.
Piton wall: Sloping reef along wall, great marine life, very deep but max group dive depth was 55’.

Dives: Group dive of 12 divers with 2 guides, 1 at front of group, 1 at back. Buddies established, everyone traveled slowly one way together along reef, boat moved to pick up at end of dive. Water and sandwiches provided during surface interval.

Comments: Good experience, easy to book with, would use again.

Two questions. 1. I understand Soufriere is much deeper than 60 ft. Was the area you went only 60, or are they limiting to 60 (and if so, why)? 2. What were the dive times and specifically did they end the dive for everyone when one person got low on air? THX!

1. Dives were drift dives. We were along a sloping wall. Group stayed together around the 60 ft depth on the wall, but you could go a little deeper if you wanted. If you went much deeper, however, you'd be going far away from the group.

2. 1st dive was 46 min, 2nd was 47 min, ended with 978 psi & 1090 psi respectively. Dives ended together when signaled by the guide. I didn't see everyone's indication of how much air they had, but I assume they decided to surface when someone got low.

Your report mirrors my experience with them last year, and got to dive Superman’s flight on our two tank. I will use them again when next visiting St. Lucia. Excellent dive op.
