Hi,
All im kinda new to scuba, but I have a good idea( I hope no one trys to take it). I want to build a web site that has all the good diving spots in the U.S. not just the lakes and oceans that are here, but more spefic like G.P.S cords of wrecks and walls or good treasure hunting spots or hunting spots, with a picture and some info on the spot IE avg temp depth how far you can see...ect. I would need your guys help with all the spots( there location). and I want to add a P.O.C "point of contact" for each area (if some one is willing to). The whole point of this web site is "say im going to AZ for the weekend and I wana scuba dive, I can look on the website and find a good spot close to where I will be, and some one I can email and maybe hook up with so I have a dive buddy for the day". So my big question is would any one use it and how much do you all think it would get used, thats alot of work for no to use it.

there are other websites like this already, I don't know how useful they are. Since this is your first post, I suggest you explore THIS website a bit.

ScubaBoard is actually the best source I have found. If you scroll down on this website page (it is huge) you will find a section for "dive travel" where every place in the world has a Forum. Each Forum then has SubForums for areas within that region. There people do exactly what you are talking about - they talk about different dive sites, talk about diving there past and future, and meet up with others. I have attended numerous "ScubaBoard dive trips" and met lots of members by doing this. Check it out.

also, since it says in your profile that you live in Utah, you should check out the Forum for your area, the Rocky Mt Oysters! That is where I am a member and we discuss diving in our area. We just had a big gettogether in October at Blue Hole, Santa Rosa, NM. I did a video:
