Hi all!
I am going to conduct a series of survey dives to determine if an eco-tourism operator wants to begin offering scuba tours to South Georgia Island. It will be a small dive team, probably less than 6-8 people. I am lookig for a few more who would like to go (there are 3 total now).

South Georgia Island is where Ernest Shackleton landed after rowing 700 miles from Antarctica, where his ship was crushed in the ice. It is also where he is buried, after falling ill on a later expedition.

There is a colony of 100,000+ King penguuins there that we will expect to see, as well as old whaling stations, birds, whales, etc. Underwater? Who knows! Scientific literature says the waters there have a biodiversity rivaling the Galapagos.

Only divers experienced with drysuits will be considered. Water temps should be 2-5C (35-42oF). The price is discounted by almost $5,000, to $7,300 USD pp. The trip includes airfare from Santiago, Chile to Port Stanley on the Faulkland Islands. From there we sail 2 days south to South Georgia.

Call me if you are interested.
