Back in the old days, we used to buy books that listed dive sites. They were nice references with location, depth info, maybe a little history or other trivial info about the site, photos in some cases, etc...
Is there a website source like that now? A "gold standard" to read about popular wrecks, reefs, or other sites?
 
PADI and SSI both have listings on their sites. There are a lot of sites that have smaller listings (local). Around there, some of the local dive shops have a section for local dive sites. I don't think there's one gold standard but it would be nice if there were.
