I presume that, by "dive shop", you mean a store which sells a significant amount of dive gear. There are only 2 - Divers World and Divers Supply, both on the same road as the Courtyard Marriott but closer to town.

If you are talking about dive operators, you don't care about the dive op itself being close, some will not even have much of a place on land. You're not really interested in getting to the shop - you're interested in getting to the boat. Boats leave from a few different marinas and other locations, and you may not even leave from the same place everyday, depending on the op and where you are diving. You just need an op that picks up where you are staying, which will be pretty much anyone that caters to that side of the island. They may or may not stop at their shop on the way to the boat, depending what's going on. So pick out the op that you think you will like and then make sure location/pickup works, and don't worry too much about location. Look at Divetech, Off the Wall, Ambassador, Wall to Wall, Divers Down, Neptune's for a start at some of the smaller and better ops.

Try Ambassadordivers.com These guys depart directly across the street from Courtyard. We stayed there once and we could actually see the dive boat from our room.

As stated by Damselfish it doesn't matter who is located where here in Cayman.
The majority of dive operators will pick you up from any hotel on 7 Mile Beach and where they leave from depends very much upon the weather.
if the weather is favourable then any good operation will take you diving on the North wall which means a short bus ride to the departure point. If the North side is too rough then you will almost certainly dive on the West side of the island. In this case some operations leave from the Public beach which is directly opposite the Courtyard and others leave from docks nearby. Either way this should not be your prime consideration when choosing a dive operation: think about the service they offer, their boats, the number of divers on the boats and of course price!
Everybody dives the same areas but some operations go out of their way to give you longer bottom times, smaller groups and the best service!
Hope this helps,

CJ

Eden Rock Diving Center is about 7 miles from Courtyard and offers pickup for boat diving. I suggest renting a car to see the island and do some shore diving which should not be missed.
