Dive shops and diving - Wailuku area

Hi all - As I search for suitable and affordable vacations I'm finding some condos over in the Wailuku area on the other side of the island from the popular Kihei & Lahina areas.
Can you folks help me determine if this side as suitable dive spots and operators, or if we'll end up driving to Kihei to to pick up a dive boat.
If this side is just as good do you have any favorite operators.

There are'nt any.

Closest boat diving is probably Maui Diamond II in Ma'alea - straight south across the narrow part of the island. Maui Dive Shop keeps their boat there also but IIRC were slightly higher plus they feed divers from all theirlocations there. I was on it once - crowded,

15 or so minutes drive.
