After you compleate the OW course the dive shop says they will give you a call when you c card comes in.
A few weeks after I was in the shop and was given mine. Maybe they just happened to come in and they didn't get a chance to call.
Now my wife is taking the class and it's been about two months since she has compleated the class. Someone else in her class got their card about two weeks ago. and no call to us. I know it's only a plastic card and we've been diving plenty of time without it,
We have all our gear and bought 90% from the shop. So is a little phone call to much to ask. I guess so.
Well everyone thanks for letting me vent.:fury: :fury:

We have the card sent directly to the student and ask them to call us if they don't get it in a month. If it is PADI where the card is sent is by selections made when filling out the pic.

On a (somewhat) similar theme, and also giving me an opportunuty to vent............
Earlier this year I dropped into a LDS in Austin,TX to look at wet suits, got talking to the owner about courses I was interested in and signed up for a Tech Nitrox course. Also paid for the books, which were on backorder. To cut a long story short, several months and half a dozen phone calls later no books. I eventually got mad at them and demanded that they refund my credit card, which they did.

Called another shop in town, that advertises its tech courses, the guy who answered was not familiar with them, but promised somebody would call me back. yeah right.

Do these people want my money or not????????

And if anybody in the Austin area would like to instruct me in Tech Nitrox please feel free to get in touch..............................

I had to keep calling my LDS to see if the cards had arrived. That was the instruction from the instructor. When I went to pick it up they acted like they didn't know who I was. I can understand not remembering my name, but their attitude was like "Who are you".
I work close to their location and went in their several times. I talked to the owner, and one of the salesmen about equip, but they didn't seem interested in getting to know me.

I bought my equipment from a different LDS, and will be taking all future classes through them. They are a new very small LDS, and really care about their students. They believe in smaller classes, and thouough training.

I am fortunate to have several LDS to choose from in my area. Look closely and you can find a good one.
