Looking for some imput on whether to go with DR RG2500 or Zeagle Flathead VI...eventually to be used for tech diving. -Thanks

I can only comment on Dive Rite as I have not used Zeagle regs. I have 2 x Hurricanes (RG3500) and 1 x RG1208 first stage with an RG1215 second stage for deco set up. I use the hurricanes as my primary regs for tech diving. The Hurricane first stae is the same 1st stage used by Beauchat for their VR200 and is a very good deep and cold water reg. I dive in fairly temperate waters in QLD Aus and find they work equally well in warm water. The second stage is big with a big exhaust which expells your bubbles well away from your field of vision. I previously used aqualung Titan LX adjustables and there is no comparison. My Titans are now on my other deco bottle. The Hurricanes have 2 HP ports and 4 LP ports and my hose routing works well for my tech set up. The RG1208 which is sold as a RG3000 when bought with a hose and 2nd stage is also a good reg. The swivel turrent is great for hose positioning and a set of these would have just as easily done for my primaries only that the Hurricanes have supposedly slightly better performance and ironically are cheaper on many sites than the RG3000's.

The RG3500's are a great reg and you can pick them up new for $399.00. Lucky I got mine while the Aussie dollar was strong. Bought mine from diverite express and got good service.

I am not sure what the RG2500s are as I couldnt find them on line. Anyway I hope this is useful

If you rebuild your own regs or plan to in the future, the advantage goes to the Dive Rites as there's no secret handshake required to get the kits.

Call Scubatoys and there is no secret handshake required for the Zeagles either.

I own 4 Zeagle regs, 2 Flathead VI's, 2 DSV's, and I love them. I have tried the DiveRites, and they are nice too. Honestly either of them will give you what you need from rec through tech.
