Currently diving sidemount exclusively with Xdeep Tec. Been looking at getting a BP/W and tried one yesterday. Not sure I like the rigidity the plate brings.

Been looking at the Dive rite transpac XT with a voyager wing. Looks pretty versatile.

Transpac can mount any standard wing, correct? Also able to convert to sidemount system by adding Nomad wing?

Overall thoughts on Transpac?

the dive rite wings are designed around the Transpac, that's why they have the crosshairs and no one else does. You might be able to use other wings with it, but it would get rather complicated.

Remember that the rigidity of the plate is no worse than the rigidity of a tank. The plates are shorter than the tank and you can't bend your ribs, so the width doesn't matter. I have a transpac, I love it, it has a useful purpose, but it only replaces my backplates if I have to hike somewhere with my tanks on.
