Hello,

I’m debating a Dive Rite transpac and wings to replace my current BCD. Currently I am using the DUI weight harness system and I do not really want to go the way of a weight integrated BCD.

Is anyone using the tranpac and the DUI weight harness – if so do you have any hassles with using them both? I thought that the straps may become a little unwieldy. Cheers……Iain

I used to dive with a Transpac II and a DUI Weight Harness. (I didn't like the TPII's weight integration). I didn't have any problems with using them together.

Two of my buddies have gotten the DUI system to use with their Transpacs. They report it is a wonderful arrangement.

I haven’t used my DUI with the my Transpac, but I use it with my BP--- I just had to adjust the DUI a little lower as to clear the BP waist strap. Sometimes while taking the system off I grab the wrong shoulder strap. I imagine it would be the same for the Transpac. Not really an issue- just a little frustrating.

Thanks guys - appreciate your time.

I ordered the Dive Rite gear this afternoon. Dive safe................Iain

You should be happy with your purchase. I love my W&T2 -Transpac II combination.

Iain, how did you make out with the Dui harness? I just bought a Transpac II and I don't care for the weight pockets either. It's almost like wearing a weight belt. I have a DUI harness I used to use with my old BC, I'm gonna try it out.

Hi Maildiver - thanks for your PM. I am using the transpac without the weight pockets. Personally, I don't like the weight pockets as it adds to the weight of the unit when lifting into a boat, etc, but they functionn quite well (I have tried them out).

I either use a DUI weight system harness when wearing my drysuit, or wear a normal weight belt in the tropics. I add a weight to my tank harness when in the tropics as the 30 pound lift of the oxychec wing is more than enough when tropical diving.

More than happy with the transpac harness. Best....IAIN
