Dive rite Reels

I was looking at getting a reel and for the price Dive Rite looks good. I will not be doing any cave diving just clipping near the anchor in open water and shooting a lift bag. Should I get a reel and a finger spool? Don't want to drop $100 on something I will rarely use.

If you are rarely going to run more than 50 feet of line, and primarily want the ability to run a short distance to a wreck or shoot a bag, a spool will be plenty. It is a bit of a PITA to spool up a lot of line, especially at swimming speed, so if you're going to run search patterns or run long distances, a reel is better. Light monkey has a small reel that might be perfect for your purposes, if you don't think a 100 foo spool will do.

I'm in agreement with TSandM, the Light Monkey 200' Small Reel sounds perfect for you! I know that it is more than what you want to spend but, More reliable (line won't jump, no nylon tension screw to strip out, no C-clip to pop off) than any typical reel, Easy to run line out or to deploy SMB/Bag and not as big as a 400'.
