Hey Guys and Gals,

If i could get a Dive Rite NiTek Duo Dive Computer for 250$ is it a good deal and is this a good computer for some minor deco diving. Anyways thanks for all the help..

That a pretty good price and it's good for minor deco. It will use multiple gasses as well.

When I had it, a computer interface was not available so I upgraded to the NiTek Plus.

BTW, if you are going to do deco, then you shouldn't be relying on a computer.

The price is a decent price for that unit. I love the Duo myself. It can handle light Deco if you accidently go into it. But as Xanthro said don't depend on an computer other than the one between your ears. The DUO does have a guage mode that is really nice if you do go into diving that needs it.

I routinely put my Duo into deco. I normally dive EAN32 and use O2 to speed up deco.

The most deco I have generated with it is 68 minutes on backgas, starting at 30 feet.

Never a problem.

How aggressive/conservative do you find it using O2 for deco?

Using O2 roughly halves deco time compared to EAN32. This the same result that my other computers/tables give.

The Duo is a typical neo-Haldane ZHL computer and gives the same deco times as my other ZHL computers.

So, less deco than the Suunto RGBM units units. Especially on RDP.
More deco than more liberal computers like the Aeris Atmos.

Where did you find it for $250.00? Every one I have seen is around $400.

i love the nitek duo. its simple, frills free and darn easy to use. i would recommend it to anyone. hell i got 4 for all my friends and they couldnt be happier.
