HONOLULU -- A Coast Guardsman was pronounced dead Saturday night
after getting into trouble while doing some recreational diving off
Oahu's Waianae Coast.

The Coast Guard identified the man Sunday as Petty Officer 1st Class
Mark Mueller, 34.

Spokeswoman Marsha Delaney said Mueller was stationed aboard the
Seattle-based icebreaker Polar Star. The vessel arrived in Honolulu
on Thursday on its way to Antarctica.

Delaney said Mueller got into trouble while he and other crewmembers
from the Polar Star went diving at the wreck of the Mahi.

Witnesses said Mueller lost consciousness while below the surface.
He was brought to shore by the dive vessel The Beach and was then
transported by ambulance to the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health
Center.

An investigation turned up nothing suspicious and the death was
ruled an accident, Honolulu police said.

The cause of death will be determined by the city medical examiner.

Thanks for the link! It is sad, but the only one working for the new owners is Cam....everybody else there didn't work with Fritz. So he would be the only one that would relate....Gosh, it's been almost 10 Months since Fritz died....Do miss his calls....
