I am planning on travelling to Fiji mid-August of next year and plan on staying on Viti Levu. I would like to dive 2-3 days out of Nadi area so i can dive mamanucas, then head down to Pacific Harbor to dive Beqa for 4-5 days, and then finally head up to Rakiraki/Nananu-i-Ra for 2-3 days. I am travelling solo and interested in keeping cost low so I can dive a lot. I hve been told to stay at Uprising beach (they have dorms) while in Pacific Harbor so I think I am good for that area, but I am trying to find suggestions for places to stay at the other locations as well as dive operators. Do any of y'all have suggestions or places/operators to avoid?

thank you!

If you are looking for pelagic action instead of soft corals I would suggest diving in Levuka and Wakaya. I saw hammerheads and Mantas in my 2 dives in Wakaya. Barracuda, reef sharks and eagle rays are also very common in Levuka. But then Levuka is not in Viti Levu but can be reached by ferry or domestic flight from Suva.

Do not dive with the SWISS divers outfit. IDIOTS...old boat...totallly unaccompdating

Bula Dawn,

For dive operators in Nadi I’d try Scuba Bula or Viti Watersports. The Nadi Bay Hotel has dorm rooms. Take a look at Volivoli in Rakiraki, which is also where Ra Divers is based.

Swiss Fiji Divers was located in Taveuni, but has been gone now for a few years.
