I am headed to FP for my honeymoon in a 6 weeks and I am trying to figure out my dive operation options. I probably should have gotten on this earlier, but work has been crazy and the fiancee is a non-diver (I know!, but we can work with it) so the main focus of the trip is not diving. I did some searching but can not seem to find any recent posts here on Bora Bora, so thought I would post and see what came up.
Anyway... plan is 6 nights at St Regis in Bora Bora and 4 nights at Le Taha'a. I would consider myself an advanced beginner, with 250+ dives in 5 years. I usually try to get out for 2-3 weeks a year but with the wedding this year last dove in January. I think any day in the ocean is better than a great day at work, but would consider myself a little bit spoiled since I have been fortunate/lucky enough to have been to some great sites.
Le Taha'a is off by itself so I was going to use the on-site anyway but would certainly love to hear any thoughts or must do dives.
Bora Bora is a different story. Most of what I can find is on Top Dive and they do seem to the "big dog" in the area. Usually I prefer smaller diver operations since they are less likely to cater the least experienced and are more flexible. I will be hauling my own gear (a comfort factor for me and worth any price in luggage overages) so as long as the air is clean I am good.
So basically I am looking for recommendations on dive operators and locations in both places. Thanks!
