Recently a friend posted a FB photo of “dive guide Ricardo” riding a whaleshark in Maui, which has bothered me ever since I saw it. Really? That is SO wrong. Now, I was not there. But if anyone knows Ricardo, maybe he could have an instructional moment?

I don't think he'll be very remora-sful.

The video shows him riding the fin, as well as the photographer said that he was. I will try to snap a screenshot of the video where he wasn’t finning, just riding.

If that is really a DM leading a dive, besides the obvious problem of RIDING A WHALE SHARK (seriously, WTF?), I would say that does not look like a DM with any situational awareness of his divers/customers or focus on their safety. I would think it would be grounds for loss of credentials, if he is a card-carrying DM.
