Its not too late to signup for Dive for Earth Day - but dont delay. Be sure youre part of one of the biggest environmental events of the year. Dive for Earth Day, the week of 22 April, is unique this year because you can also make your actions count for International Year of the Reef 2008.
Our underwater environments are under numerous threats including pollution, climate change, overfishing, and coral bleaching. So now is the time to take action to help protect the planet. Choose from Project AWAREs most popular Dive for Earth Day activities including shoreline and underwater cleanups, coral reef monitoring and AWARE Kids programs and receive one free support package: (Additional materials are also available for purchase for multiple events.)
Just follow the instructions below to get started:
1. Select a Dive for Earth Day activity to benefit your local aquatic environment.
2. Register your Dive for Earth Day activity online and receive Project AWARE support materials and tools for your event.
3. To ensure your activity counts for International Year of the Reef, simply indicate on the online registration form for additional exposure.
4.Gain any necessary approval from relevant governing bodies and entities involved.
5. Gather local dive volunteers and Dive for Earth Day!
