Most offer a planning mode that lets you see how long you can stay at a certain depth. Then based on the amount of bottom you desire you can make the choice to stay hop back in or stay out longer until the numbers look better.

When shoppping for a computer be sure and have all your questions ready to ask the salesperson. Each one is basically the same with some added bells and whistles.

After you purchase it read the instruction manual.

Good Luck

I too am looking for a good dive computer. What I have been doing is reading reviews then going to the manufacturers site and downloading all the manuals for the ones I think I am interested in. Then read them front to back.
You will find out more info to make you ask more questions on them. I think the one I am going to go with is the UWATEC Smart Pro. Seems to have all the features I want and then some.
