Hello Im heading down to Orlando Florida for a vacation and wanted to get scuba certified so that I can do a little scuba diving there. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go. I would like to get it done in 2-3 days if possible and dive in the ocean if at all possible. Price will hopefully also be under 250 again if possible. Im a high school senior and dont have much cash so the cheaper the better. anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks
Adam

Alright thanks now whats the best program. I heard PADI but a lot of the places im lookin at are NAUI whats the difference between all the different ones?

I'm recently certified myself so I'm by no means an expert but 2-3 days is extremely short for a class. Have you looked into completing the class/pool sessions locally and then doing the dives on vacation? The actual agency (NAUI, PADI, etc) is a relatively unimportant factor, its the instructor that will make or break the course.

2-3 days is a typical PADI class/pool weekend. Then 4 ocean (lake, whatever) dives--usually the next weekend. For me it would be too much info. all at once, but that's me. I assume you've considered doing at least the class/pool part up North and then the 4 dives in Fla.? Or in a month or so doing it all in Wisc. so you won't spend vacation time getting certified in Fla.?

The way I think im going to do it is do the academic stuff this week while im still in wisconsin. Then when i go to florida get all my hours in the pool on one day and do my ocean dives on the weekend.

Can't you get your pool work done in Wisconsin? Don't they have indoor pools?

If you get your instruction AND pool work, all you have to do when you hit Florida are the check out dives.
