7 rescued, 1 missing as yacht sinks off Bauan, Batangas
Seven people were rescued while one was reported missing after a yacht sank off Bauan in Batangas province on Monday morning due to Typhoon Quinta.

In an interview with Dobol B sa News TV, Joselito Sinocruz, manager of Batangas Port, said the vessel that sank was Ocean Explorer III.

According to the Coast Guard, MV Oceanic Explorer 3 submerged due to bad weather and rough seas in the area, which was 0.5 nautical miles off Keppel Shipyard in Barangay San Roque. “Napakalakas pa po, dito lang po sa loob ng port ay ilan na po yung punong natumba. Meron po akong nakitang tatlong sasakyan na natumbahan po ng puno,” he said.

The identities of the rescued and missing persons were still not available as of press time.
