Distance/Time Walking Barracuda Hotel to 3P's and Plaza Hotel to 3P's

Has anyone stayed at either the Barracuda or Plaza Hotel and dove with 3P's? If so, did you walk to the dive shop each morning and then to the pier? How long did it take? Approximate distance? Being slow, my mileage definitely varies!

Any other advice on these two hotels?

Will they not pick you up at hotel pier? Does 3P's not do that?
 
Will 3 Ps pick up at the Aldora Pier downtown? That's about 3 blocks south, across the Plaza and another 2 blocks, maybe a 3-5 minute walk, from Hotel Plaza Cozumel. Probably about 5-6 block walk from Hotel Barracuda. Both Casa Mexicana and Suites Bahia are a bit closer to that Pier. Casa Mexicana is a bit nicer, but more expensive than Plaza Cozumel. Suites Bahia is an older hotel, probably very close in price to Plaza Cozumel, includes the Breakfast buffet at Casa Mexicana (which is pretty good).
 
Yeah I meant the downtown pier. Derp! Thanks for correction. :)

If 3P's wont pick you up there - find an op that will. Lots of them pick up there!
 
I stayed at Plaza Cozumel. I enjoyed a great breakfast each morning in the lobby and then walked less than 10 minutes to the dive shop. They leave the shop around 7:40.
 
It's only a few minutes walk from any near the square but maybe 7 to 10 minutes from the Barracuda but I'm pretty sure they would be happy to pick you up from it (in a vehicle). They don't bring the boat up from the new marina unless diving north of town.
 
3P's leaves from the marina south of town so in town divers meet at the shop and the dive op then arranges transport to the marina. I can't speak for them but I do know they have stopped for divers along the way and the Barracuda Hotel is along the route from the shop to the marina.

Hotel Plaza would be a bit of a hike but there may be other options.

Email Jeanie and she can tell you exactly what your options are at each location. She usually answers emails within hours, even when she is not on the island.

A 10 minute walk from either hotel to the 3P office where they will arrainge transportation to the southern Marina. They like to depart the shop around 7:45 so a no rush walk at about 7:35 will get you there in time. They will take care of your gear so you do not need to haul it around, most folks check in the afternoon before and leave their gear at the shop. As stated before if you contact Jeanie she can answer any questions and set everything up.
 
Thanks everyone for your input. I've been in contact with Jeanie but didn't know the distance from the hotels to the dive shop. Now I've got a better understanding.
