I gather this is a hot topic. Without scrolling thru all of the posts to find my answer, could someone just give me a simple explanation of it. The shorter and simpler the better since I'm new.

Thanks much,

Beck

There are many, many , many other thread with the same topic, and if you notice on the ones that I linked for you, about the second or third post suggests doing a search.

What I suggest is that if after reading all about DIR, you still have questions, post those questions about something specific (if it has not already been asked on here a 1000 times already). I hope you don't take me as being rude, but I think the majority of the folks on here feel the same.

Wendy,

Thanks for the reply....no I didn't think you were rude. I just had a "Duh" on my part. I'm new to the board and I didn't even think about using the search function. As I said...duh.

Anyway, I've checked out some of the posts and I'm getting the feel for DIR.

Thanks again,

Beck

I'm sure it will help some people. The first I heard of DIR was on this board and I did try search. After browsing through some of the zillion hits and flamefests I _still_ couldn't figure out at the time the fundamental definition, or even what the acronym stood for!
