I'm thinking on buying some hp steel tanks 3500psi but the only LDS has yoke fill whips his compressor will run 4500 psi so I'm not worried on short fills just wondering if I can buy an adapter to take with me that will go from DIN to yoke rated for this psi

You can get a convertible tank valve that has a removable insert that converts from DIN for your regs to yoke for the filling whip. These valves are rated to 232 bar, though, so if you need 300 bar fills, that might not be an option for you.

AFAIK, in the U.S. the CGA (Compressed Gas Association) limits the recommended fill for ALL yoke fittings to 3,000 psi. Accordingly, all those fittings will state a 3,000 psi limit.

That said, my LDS uses one of those for my 3500 fills all the time.

So the one from leisure pro will fit the bill

I have yoke, DIN, paintball and SCBA whips off my the low pressure manifold. I fill combo valves setup for yoke with a yoke to 3600PSI @100f so I don't have to fuss with removing the insert. Never had a problem..... Yet.

3500psi cylinders utilize valves with 7/8 -14 UNF and are are 300 bar only. So the convertible valves which are 3/4 -14 NPS will not work in this case.

To the OP the there is the adapter shown above but also this one which lets you orient the fill whip (scroll down a bit):

I use this adapter. And of course I gave the shop a bit grief for not having one.
