I am considering buying an HP Faber Blue steel 100 tank that comes with a "DIN/K Convertible Valve".
Forgive the question, but does anyone know if this means I can fit my current reg (Oceanic Delta 4) that has a yoke straight on to it, or do I need addtional kit?

If staight on, am I limited to 3000psi?

Thanks for your help.

You need the correct screw-in plug to turn the DIN valve into a K valve. Presumably the valve is the 200-Bar version with a dimple on the back to take the bayonet of the yoke screw. See for example the images at XS Scuba here.

As for limiting your tank pressure because of the yoke mechanics. that's a bit of a can of worms. What's your Oceanic first stage rated for?

Most of these convertible valve have an insert that you screw in to make it a yoke, or screw out to make it a DIN. It should be part of the valve, and you shouldn't have buy anything extra. Double check with the seller. Most of these are rated at 200 bar, which is fine for HP cylinders

Here is an example of the DIN/yoke valve

The link above is the actual tank on LP's site, so can not answer the question about dimples in this valve. However, I have read that some DIN types, come with a screw in insert that turns it iinto a yoke...I really can not comment on this one.
My reg is good enough for HP Tanks, not sure about the Yoke - Its what came with the reg (FDX10).

Its "tech stuff"

Thanks Doc and Bryan - apreciate your help.

The valve should come with the yoke conversion insert, so your reg should fit righ And you won't be limited to 3000 psi - the maximum pressure for the yoke interface is 3442 psi, which is why most HP tanks are now rated for that.

That's a great tank by the way. I have one and love it. The only thing I would prefer would be a galvanized coating, but the paint seems to be pretty durable. I use a 24 year old SP regulator on mine at 3445psi with on problems. The only issue I've seen so far are some of the older regulators I've tried to mate to it had yokes too narrow to fit over the valve. But I think your Delta 4 won't have that problem. That looks like a pretty good price too. As the tanks were manufactured in 2009, it might behoove you to give them a call and ask for a fresh VIP sticker.

Under the white top coat and the grey primer is a galvanised coating.
