Dive report from the Dimaniyat Islands on 11 August 2017:

Weather was sunny as you would expect for August in Oman but not overly hot or humid. Quite manageable and pleasant.

Left Seeb Marina with Scubadoo at around 8am with 5 divers and 2 snorkellers onboard.

Aquarium (North Side)
Arrived at around 8:30am and were joined at the surface by a very friendly Whale Shark (4ish meters in lenght - not fully mature)........how lucky........we'd just arrived and up to us he swam! Everyone into the water and lots of video was taken of course.

We began our dive at 9:05am, descended down the anchor line in a medium strong current to the wall at around 16 - 20m. Saw a 2m long honeycomb moray between rocks at around 10m on our way down. Beautiful walls with lots of healthy hard and soft corals. Visibility was maybe 10m at best. We proceeded in an easterly direction and checked out the abundant sea life. Returned back and continued west past the anchor and came across a very large Round Ribbontail Ray on the sand. He decided to swim back with us to the anchor point.

3 Sisters
Went on to the 3 Sisters site at Police Island. We saw a flounder camouflaged in the sand (good eyes Harold), a 2m long Zebra Shark who we disturbed and then swam round the corner and we saw again on the way past and back again, a very large Spider Conch with mollusk inside which I believe are getting rarer these days. Awesome coral formations including many cabbage corals. We passed about 5 - 6 COTS in a group. I was wondering whats the protocol, should divers try to kill them where we find them?? Some small areas of coral bleaching visible at 5m on the safety stop.

Operator
Scubadoo were very professional with great gear, properly recording data from the dives. Friendly, conscientious, and competent staff.

Back on the boat to Seeb.

So we saw lots of big stuff - and overall, a perfect days diving!
