Heya all,

At the moment I am shooting my underwater pics with my Sony DSC-W55 + ikelite casing. For surface use, I just bought myself a nice Canon 500D (= Rebel T1i). I got a canon 18-200mm zoom, a canon 28mm F/1.8 prime and will soon get something like a nice canon 60mm F/2.8 macro lens.

Now here comes my dilemma; Should I stick with my point and shoot, and enhance my experience by buying strobes and other nice stuff for it?
Or should I abandon my 'old project' and get a nice underwater casing for my canon?

If you tell me to go for my canon, what lens is best used for underwater photography?

Yours,

Rob

Hi Rob: ofcourse if you can afford it, go for the SLR
for this particular camera of yours you can take HD video too
if you can get the right port and zoom gear for it, I would get the tokina 10-22mm, because it is a fisheye on its widest and you can use it as regular wide angle too
for macro either the 60mm or 100mm
for me personally I like the 60mm because you can get closer to your subject

but again I am no where close to a pro
so dont take my word for it as this is only my personal opinion
I am just trying UW DSLR photography myself

sorry, i meant tokina 10-17mm
