Do any of you have any media strategies with storage?

I've been looking at getting a small USB3 SSD RAID setup for location footage before getting back home and dealing with it there.

I tend to do 2-4 45-90min dives with either video or photo (or sometimes both) a day.

Typical trips are 4-18 days with 6-30 dives.

Usual footage is RAW 1080/60 or 4K to go down to 1080 and 16mp RAW.

I'm thinking of a 1/2T SSD RAID1 setup would suffice for the moment on most of my trips.

Thoughts?

USB3? Yes.
SSD? Yes.
RAID1. Yes, strongly recommended.

If you already did such good research, what do you need our opinions for? :D

To make a sane decision ... Wait, it's SCUBA hahahaha ....

Mainly in the capacity amount.

For short term, Raid1 is all you'd need. For long-term "permanent" storage I'd certainly beef that up....think RAID5, ZFS, or RAID-Z. I'm currently using Windows 8's "Storage Spaces" features that I like for flexibility, but it doesn't seem to provide quite as much redundancy as I'd like. I need more research there.

How much is a "usual" day's worth of media for you? How about a "very high" day of usage for you? Have you kinda kept track of it in the past (ballpark works fine here)?
