After 3 years of happy diving with a Reefmaster, I flooded it --terminally this winter. I miss it and am going to replace it with some kind of (relatively) inexpensive camera. Since I do not yet have a land digital camera, I am thinking of getting the Reefmaster digital. Since I can use the same u/w strobes with it, would be very cost effective. I played with it today--it looks good. I am familiar with the drawbacks of UW digital shots, but figure if i can't deal with it, i still have a land digital camera and can always replace the Reefmaster film version. I am also aware that for a land only camera, one can get much better quality for less $$$.

So the question is, has anyone used one and if so, do you know of any reason I shouldn't buy it? Second qestion--is there another land/sea digital camera set up that is so much better to justify the cost difference (not just camera/housing cost, but replacing strobe & macro set up ) to a confirmed just-for-fun snapper?

Thanks, as always,

I have used the digital and I have seen another one used. I'm a dive shop owner. I sold one and bought one for myself. Love it. It's sitting here next to me on the computer now. You can go wrong with one. They retail at 549.00. All reefmaster flashes and macro set are ready for the digital camera.
