Just was wondering if someone out there can help me to pick a digital underwater camera? Would like to know which one to buy. Would like to have a good one so I only have to buy just one. Can someone help me out there?

Thanks

well first depends on several factors like budget you can get 1.3 digital the seal life DC200 with strobe and all for somewear between 600-800 range
and get some decent picture id you wanting good picture with big excellent picture you may want to try some of the oly cameras with case that run you 1000 plus your choice my self I am working toward the sea life DC200 only because i have strobes and all that will work with it and will be selling my film rc camera soon as i am working local shop for camera Dee and someothers can help you more in this area good luck !!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Medic13 there lots of factors when considering digital cameras. I did quite abit of research just recently on my own and with the help of the board. I bought the Olypmus C-3020 and the PT010 housing. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I found the camera online with a 3 year warranty for under 400 and the housing for about 250. I figured that I would use the camera more on land than underwater(not much:)). The Sealife camera was only a 1megapixel compared to the 3.2megapixel of the Olympus and the Sealife shoot its still in compressed form only ( it doesn't have an uncompressed digital form). If you have any questions feel free to send me a message.

As so many have said it depends on
a:what you expect as far as resoluton
b: how you plan on sharing pics
I have a S&S MMII EX and my wife has a Sealife digital in the housing. For sending pics along the net the Sealife is more than
enough, for print my dive buddies Nikon Coolpix is much better
but still no match for film. BTW Sealife is really good about service which makes all the difference to me.
Happy snapping.:bonk:

...is to read through this forum for the other posts asking the same thing. The one titled "Any suggestions" just under this one for instance.

You'll find suggestions, prices, web links, etc. to help you get started. After you have read those, then you'll know what's available and what questions to ask.

After months of research, I bought the Olympus C-4040, Oly PT-10 case, S&S YS90DX strobe and S&S WAL L lens.
