I currently have a TG-6 and a E-PL5 housing I picked up somewhere to try mirrorless. I also have a 60mm lens for an Olympus mirrorless.

My question is how much difference would I see with the mirrorless? Thinking of either finding a E-PL5 camera and using the Olympus housing I have (plus port) or getting a newer setup like the E-PL10. Is it worth the money doing the upgrade? I also have a S&S strobe for the TG-6.

Thanks

If you are only interested in macro and "fish portraits" then the 60mm lens on the PEN will provide much better image quality than the TG6. But for reef scenes or wide-angle the 60mm is of no use at all, so the TG6 wins. So the answer to your question depends on what kind of pictures you are taking.

Thanks for the response!

Just wondering how the larger sensor would help etc as well. I've been loving the TG-6 and have mostly been focusing on macro lately but do like that I can also do some good wide angle when I want with the TG. But mainly right now macro so maybe the 60mm would be beneficial.
I've heard it can take some getting used to with the 60mm lens where the TG is just so good with the macro focusing as well.

When I said better image quality I meant the sensor size as well as the lens. I have a TG6 and an OM mirrorless. No contest. The TG is OK at everything; the OM is great at everything, but not as versatile....different lenses and ports needed for different kinds of things. It's a tradeoff. If all you do is look at Facebook-size images and don't crop and aren't fussy about colors and corners, the TG is fine.

Thank you....think I'm just gonna get better at the TG6 before I worry about upgrading just yet. I would eventually like to get some better shots and have them printed out and hung on my wall but that's gonna be a min.
