Difference Oceanlog USB cable V1 and V2

Hello,
i am having troubles connecting my new VEO 3.0 to my laptop PC. After downloading software from oceanic web it seems to go all well, but the only problem is that it does not connect to the PDC. My last idea is that i have a wrong cable. For VEO-3 I need V2 cable 04-9606.
How can i recognize on the USB cable whether it is V1 (04-9600) or V2 (04-9606)?
There is no number on the cable nor on the box.

Im not sure how you can check the cable but I would give Oceanic a call about it
