...is one of the biggest boat shows in Europe, and features a diving section. I cruised up to Düsseldorf last weekend to take in the show and see what deals I could get. I came back minus around a month's pay, a dry suit (an otter, neoprene) a new computer (suunto cobra), two new lamps (Treble) and various small stuff (signal buoys, custom mouthpiece, etc )....that is quite a show, but it leaves you broke :-))

I am however still delighted to have gone, and can only recommend it to the european contingent here.

Geez, Die Boot, I thought that is what happens every time I have to exit in an Oyster bed. Many boots have died doing that.

Try Das Boot.....as in der spiegel on that WWII German sub. That should help refresh your german.

Hi all

it is "das* Boot, but it is *die* Bootmesse (Messe=tradeshow), and has been shortened to *Die Boot*

which sounds a little strange in German, but there you go.....

Gozumutti is allways rigth she knows the german language so well even though she is from swizerland :jester:
Here is a hug from germany to you gozu : -))

Scuba1 thanks and hugs to you too ;-) and I WILL ignore that crack about Switzerland :D

(for you language freaks out there, Swiss German is more or less a dead language, derives from the alemannic and lacks one declension (dative). Is generally viewed as a means of providing humorous entertainment to"real" Germans :jester: )

No matter. Lake Constance is still bordered on one side by the Swiss, so there! hehehe
