Hey guys----
Got my AOW last week! Took 9 months, I now have 40 dives. The 5 dives were great , had good bouyancy, good on air. Am I an advanced beginner now? Two instructors dived with me for *fun* ----My first time paying for just a tank fill. Finally.
Got some perspective on the last dive of the week---did a guided dive with 5 people who had just gotten their AOW---they looked like me when all my instructor would give me was my ScubaDiver!
Anyway, it's all been good hard, and thoroughly enjoyable work, and I feel really good about myself and thank God for opening this world to me.
Next week I dive with Gabe--can't wait!

Congrats! A divemaster once told me (something like this) You are all certified divers which means you should know what you're doing without me. I'm here, as needed, to assist with your dive, but be sure to enjoy diving with others, too.

The gist is similar to anoter thread out there. Don't be overreliant on the DM. You have to dive safely with or without them. You do what YOU can do and know when to call the dive if necessary.

Well, keeping working at it! You have the advantage of reading Scubaboard, so you have a lot more information at your fingertips than many relatively new divers.

And the advantage of getting to dive in beautiful warm water while you polish your skills!

Congratulations, well done; dive safe and have fun; :mil-pow-mia: :us:
