This just received from Tom Ingram:

DEMA RESPONDS TO PETITION
DEMA has received a demand to act on a petition signed by sufficient DEMA Members to require additional action.

DEMA will treat the petition as a request for a DEMA Bylaws amendment, which prompts the response indicated in the current DEMA Bylaws, such amendment to be conducted by a letter ballot.

Ha... Ich kann auch Deutsch!

Ich wohne in Newport Beach. Ich habe in Munchen fur vier jahre gewohnt, aber Ich vergesse mein Deutsch.

Just wonder if DEMA wil continue to decline into obscurity?

The DEMA show, as I have said before, is now travel, training, and trinkets with some seminars and parties.

In a tough economy many store owners and others choose to keep their money in their business.

I see the current incarnation of DEMA continuing to decline and the better consumer shows increasing.

...and the better consumer shows increasing.

Which ones do you put in that category?

Beneath the Sea?
Our World Underwater?
Long Beach Scuba Show?
Others?

Divin'Hossier: The 3 shows you named are the largest and longest running consumer shows. There are other consumer shoes on the rise.

Starting with the top three shows you listed would be a good beginning.

Chris Richardson @ EDGE/HOG has made some good suggestions on how DEMA could become more involved and reach more people. Whatever happens, it is certainly time for a change.

Our Texas shop hasn't sent anyone to DEMA in the last five years. In 2012, we will go to OWU, BTS and Long Beach, mainly because we get to network the Great Lakes area and each coast, and that those shows allow consumer attendance.
