Please tell me in the rawest form,
How does DEMA affect me, or make any difference in my diving (life) as just a regular recreational diver?

Not trying to be snarky or controversial, but I really don’t know.
You might peruse the dema.org website and then come back with more targeted questions, if you still have any.

Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. Do you like sharks? DEMA lobbies congress regarding shark diving in the USA. It's important to note that one of the largest shark diving operators in the Bahamas was on the BOD during that lobbying effort.

How do you feel about what's wrong with the direction of the industry? Many here will give you an earful about how DEMA and the 800 lb diving gorilla are doing their very best to promote " Diving is fun and anyone can do it".

The same old boring trade show doesn't affect you much, except that's where your LDS makes their annual stocking order, so by the time DEMA rolls around they are desperately trying to dump the dusty crap they ordered last year to raise money and make space for the same new crap that will get dusty.

Not too much otherwise...

I've never found the website to have even the smallest redeeming featureZ. YMMV

Looks like they are really busy.
