I am looking to buy a new reg and have narrowed it down to two. The APEK ATX50 or the OCEANIC Delta 4. I know most people on this site like apeks regulators but just wanted to see why they are better. I dive in new England so the water does get cold, I do not go particularly deep 100 ft. just recreational diving some wrecks but nothing to technical. Just looking for a reg that breaths smooth and can last. These are both within my price range and have heard great things about both and I am not sure which way to go.

I lloked for a post like this but could not find one, sorry if this is else where.

Thanks
james

I have own the Delta4/FDX10 reg for over a year, and I love it. I dive in NJ, so it's used in cold water all the time. It's got to be the sweetest breathing reg that I have ever used. I've tried quite a few other regs by different makers but I still like the Delta 4 the best.

You can't go wrong with either reg....having serviced Apeks for awhile and just recently Oceanic I was suprised that the cracking pressure on the Oceanics smoked Apeks...now this is not the only indicator to judge a reg by, but a major one...the drawback to the Delta4 is that propiertary swivel/hose....I have heard that an adaptor is available to go to any hose....what were they thinking?...anyway good luck on your choice.

The Deltas are great like NJdiverTony says. I have Apeks so I'm partial to them. What I like about Apeks is they're built tough. And the design is fairly simple and parts are readily available. I service my own so getting kits underground was part of my decision to purchase.

I voted Delta 4 consider good reliable balance regs
