How about none of the above.

First Deepoutdoors seem to be overpriced with a me too product, none of their designs impress me. You are in Singapore so why would you even need a 34 lbs wing?

I'm not a big fan of Diverite, Halcyon or OMS but I would recommend any of these brands over DOD anyday.

First off what is your budget and what type of diving do you foresee yourself doing in the near future?

SangP

Good start.

I think that diverite is bout $850 or so the Halcyon is bout $1150 or so excluding the freebies from Richmond and the OMS is way more at about $1400.

If you are willing to mix and match and have a bit of patience, you'll be able to get very decent setup for less than $1000 and have the best of both worlds.

PM me if you want to know more.

Deep Outdoors does make some high quality (albeit expensive) stuff.

Their backplates are finished as nicely as any I have seen. However they only allow the use of 1" crotch straps, whereas (for example) the newer OMS plates have slots for both a 1" and a 2" crotch strap.

The DO Matrix Freedom and Matrix Custom are as nice as any BPs in their category (Transplate, IQ Pack, etc.). I initially bought a Matrix Custom LTD and I liked it, but I soon switched it out for a simple backplate and continuous webbing harness.

I don't care for Deep Outdoors single tank wings. I've used both the 34lb and 55lb single wings on several occasions. I much prefer a narrower wing like the OMS 32lb doughnut, any of the DSS wings, Halcyon, Oxycheq, etc.

Good luck!

xiSkiGuy,

Good finishing doesn't mean squat when other co. can do just as good a job and be cheaper. None of their wings are anything special, their plate aren't special but their pricing certainly is.

Boutique diving stuff anyone?

SangP

Sorry bout my ramblings but I'm just plain sick of marketing bs from these companies that's why Oxycheq, Golem and DSS have my vote.
